After spending over 20 years in the classroom, Lis shifted gears to writing. Her greatest joy is to see her listeners as they have a personal ‘aha’ moment in hearing God’s voice for themselves, primarily in the Word of God but also in prayer.  She loves making abstract concepts accessible to all students. She loves it when her students discover truth for themselves, or when ‘new’ teachers encounter greater success while trying out tried and true methods of instructions.

Born in the Netherlands, Lis’ multi-cultural experience informs so much of her life.  Yet, she has deep roots in Edmonds, WA where she has lived for more than 40 years with her husband, Roy, and where her children grew up.  Lis is rich with family which are scattered across the globe.
